It's now August 13, 2011 - time for her 1st birthday party. Wait... what?!?
I. Don't. Understand. Where did my newborn baby go? Okay, breathe. Time to go set up the party...
Avery was surrounded by so many people that love and adore her on the weekend of her first birthday {special thanks to all who came to her party!!}. After she got over the shock of the crowd, she was eager to open her presents!
Before the party ended, we rounded out the sugar-themed event with her very own smash cake. Avery was a bit apprehensive about digging in at first - and why wouldn't she be, when all she's been taught up to this point is to NOT make a mess of her food! After some encouragement and "leadership" from mommy and daddy, she got the hang of it.
Overall, a wonderful party for an amazing little girl who has brought more joy to our lives than we'd ever imagined possible. Now, time to go tape my eyelids open so I don't blink again. Ever.
