What's in a Name?

That's the question that has been on Marshall's and my mind during this pregnancy. Choosing a name for our baby girl seemed like quite the daunting task, seeing as she'll have it her whole life (unless she goes all "Hollywood" and changes it!).

Once we started looking through names, we quickly realized there are just too many to choose from! I mean, really, someone should give you, like, 5 choices and tell you to just pick one. So that's basically what we did. We made a list of our "Top 10" choices and began narrowing down from there. We soon found out that there was one name that we both were equally drawn to, and happily picked it for her first name.

And the name we've chosen is........

Avery Grace Nau

We are delighted with the name Avery and think it will suit her well. And we chose Grace for her middle name simply because of what it stands for. Grace is something that God gives us - it is Him showing favor on us, which is something we cannot earn and do not deserve. And everything that we went through leading up to the creation of this sweet and precious baby girl taught us just that. God owes us nothing in this world, and we are and will forever be grateful for this blessed baby.

Once we selected "Avery", we enlisted the help of our family members (while in town for my June baby shower) to paint block letters of her name for the nursery wall.

Below are some photos of this fun project (thank you Katherine, Candis, and Patrick for your sweet craft skills!):
