Milestones

Over the past several months, Avery has reached some very significant (and exciting!) milestones. Here are some that we were lucky enough to catch on camera/video:

Sleeping through the night - 1 month old

Avery truly blessed us with learning how to sleep 7+ hours uninterrupted at a mere one-month of age! This meant that mommy also got 7+ hours of uninterrupted sleep - thank you, Avery! She currently is sleeping an average of 10 hours each night.

Now, if only I can teach myself to go to bed at a decent hour each night.

Talking to herself (and others) - 2 months old

As you can see from this prior post, Avery began "talking" to herself when she was two months old. Since then, she has let others into what we call her "circle of trust" and has begun talking to her parents, aunts/uncles and grandparents. She also says "Ma" - though, no official "Mama" or "Dada" yet (to be continued...)

Smiling - 3 months old

We have called Avery a "Deep Thoughts" kind of baby, as over the months you can tell she has been absorbing her surroundings and taking it all in. But, when she wants to melt your heart, she'll flash a big ol' smile in your direction (and because of this, my main goal each day is now to do things for the sole purpose of making her smile). Oh, this is truly one of the purest joys of motherhood anyone could ask for!

Sitting Up (supported) - 3 1/2 months old

Sitting Up (unsupported) - 4 1/2 months old

Rolling Over - 5 months old
(Note: This also just so happened to be on her 5-month birthday!)

Eating Rice Cereal - 5 1/2 months old

On top of the milestones listed above, Avery has been VERY observant of her surroundings and has been working hard to imitate those around her. We can't wait to see what she has in store in the upcoming months... But one thing's for sure - we're bound and determined to capture every moment, AND will share it with you here on our blog!
